Early On

Early On is Michigan’s Early Intervention program for infants and toddlers from birth to age three. The family of a child with any number of diagnosed health conditions or any delay in development qualifies for Early On. Early On participation is voluntary and based on eligibility and not income. Most services are delivered in the home.

Any child referred to Early On will receive an Infant-Toddler Developmental Assessment that evaluates gross motor, fine motor, cognition, language and communication, self-help and coping skills, relationships to other persons, and emotions and feelings. After the evaluation, a meeting will be set up with the parents and anyone they wish to invite and a comprehensive report will be shared as well as a discussion of the child’s and family’s strengths/concerns and a discussion of available services to meet the needs identified. From these discussions, an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) may be developed.
